Canceled CBS medical drama “Code Black” topped the night, with a 4.0 rating/8 share in the household overnights in the 10 p.m. hour. Comparably, that bested competing drama “Reverie” on ABC (#2: 1.7/ 3) and a repeat of “Shark Tank” on ABC (#3: 1.4/ 3) by 135 percent and 186 percent, respectively. And it built from a repeat of an encore telecast of “SEAL Team” (#3: 2.5/ 4 at 9 p.m.) by 60 percent. In other words, the Eye net should reverse its decision and renew it.

In series-premiere news was “Gordon Ramway’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back” at a 2.7/ 5 in households (#2) at 9 p.m., which was completely compatible with its “MasterChef” lead-in (#2: 2.9/ 5 at 8 p.m.).

The only other original option last night was The CW’s soon-to-conclude “The Originals” at a 0.7/ 1 (#5) at 9 p.m.
