Wednesday Ratings: CBS Leads; ‘Survivor’ Tops Night; ‘Beyond The Edge’ Squanders Lead-In Support

With NBC’s “Chicago” drama trio in repeats, CBS rose to the most-watched broadcast network on this fourth Wednesday in March. But 3.39 million viewers, on average, is a noticeable dip from the “Chicago” threesome. Veteran “Survivor” took top-rated honors for the evening, with 5.19 million viewers and a 0.8 rating/6 share at 8 p.m. But week two of the similar appear “Beyond the Edge” squandered the lead-in support, with 2.85 million viewers (#2) and a 0.4/ 3 in the demo (#1t) at 9 p.m. Note to all reality series producers: Maybe it is time to stop using Metta World Peace.

Capping off the night for the Eye net at 10 p.m. was medical drama “Good Sam” (Viewers: #2, 2.12 million; A18-49: #3; 0.2/ 2 at 10 p.m.), which did not benefit opposite the repeat of “Chicago PD” on NBC.

On Fox, “The Masked Singer” remained a shell of its recent self, with 3.93 million viewers (#2) and a 0.7/ 5 in adults 18-49 (#2) at 8 p.m. And that led into the recently introduced “Domino Masters” at a bland 1.96 million viewers (#4) and and a 0.4/ 3 (#1t) in the demo at 9 p.m.

Elsewhere, The CW featured the just renewed pairing of “The Flash” (Viewers: 722,000; A18-49: 0.2/ 1 at 8 p.m.) and “the reboot of “Kung Fu” (Viewers: 633,000; A18-49: 0.1/ 1 at 9 p.m.). Both, of course, finished last in their time periods. And ABC has plenty if work ahead revamping Wednesday next season. And if “The Goldbergs” is renewed, my suggestion is to simply explain that the departed Jeff Garlin’s Murray has passed away. What they did last night was bizarre.
