OWN Picks Up Drama ‘Greenleaf’ for Season Two Before Premiere

Thirteen Additional Episodes Ordered

Optimistic OWN has renewed drama “Greenleaf” for a second season, with 13 additional episodes confirmed before the two night series premiere on June 21 and 22, respectively. The serialized series stars Merle Dandridge as Grace Greenleaf, the estranged daughter of a Memphis megachurch bishop (Keith David) who returns home after her sister mysteriously dies. Oprah Winfrey will play Mavis McCready, the sister of Lady Mae Greenleaf (Lynne Whitfield), as a recurring role in the series.

Thirteen episodes of “Greenleaf” will air in season one, which is the first scripted series on OWN not produced by Tyler Perry.
