CBS and NBC: 0.7 rating/5 share each, Fox: 0.4/ 3, CBS: 0.3/ 2
CBS, as usual, dominated Tuesday in total viewers care of older-skewing dramas “NCIS” (Viewers: #1 for the night, 9.55 million; A18-49: #1, 0.8 rating/5 share at 8 p.m. ET), “FBI” (Viewers: #1, 7.46 million; A18-49: #2, 0.7/ 4 at 9 p.m.), and soon-to-conclude “NCIS: New Orleans” (Viewers: #1, 6.04 million; A18-49: #2, 0.5/ 4 at 10 p.m.). But, let’s face it, under 8-million viewers, on average, for this trio pales in comparison to recent years. “NCIS: Hawaii”, meanwhile, is in the works to step in for “NCIS: New Orleans”, which is not necessarily a valid solution to the audience slippage.
CBS and the home of “The Voice”, NBC, shared leadership in adults 18-49, but the once unstoppable singing showcase could only muster a 0.9/ 6 in the demo (with 6.70 million viewers) at 9 p.m. Competition series like “The Voice”, of course, do not fare all that well via DVR usage.
At 10 p.m., “The Voice” lead-out “New Amsterdam” (Viewers: #2, 4.17 million; A18-49: #1, 0.6/ 5) had a considerable advantage over week two of ABC documentary series “Soul of a Nation” (#3, 0.2/ 2). Earlier in the evening on the alphabet net was “To Tell the Truth” (Viewers: #3, 3.50 million; A18-49: #4, 0.5/ 4 at 8 p.m.) into repeats of sitcoms “black-ish” and “Mixed-ish.” Sadly, one of the aftermaths of the coronavirus is fewer original episodes this season.
Elsewhere, “Superman & Lois” (Viewers: #5, 1.23 million; A18-49: #5, 0.3/ 2 at 9 p.m.) out of “The Flash” (Viewers: #5, 991,000; A18-49: #5, 0.3/ 2 at 8 p.m.) is the real deal. Yes…this is a positive for The CW, which rarely shows any traction based on the linear broadcast ratings. And Fox medical drama “The Resident” (Viewers: #4, 3.39 million; A18-49: #2t, 0.6/ 4 at 8 p.m.) led into an encore of “Name That Tune” (which, no doubt, was not worth reviving).
