Sunday Rating: More Diluted Results for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics on NBC

Excluding streaming, night 9 of the Tokyo Summer Olympics on NBC averaged a diluted 11.89 million viewers and a 2.6 rating/18 share in adults 18-49 in primetime. While adding streaming into the mix will certainly help, it will still pale in comparison to the five most recent Summer Olympics. Take a look:

Elsewhere, CBS featured “60 Minutes” (Viewers: #2, 4.64 million; A18-49: #2t, 0.3/ 2 at 7 p.m.), “Big Brother” (Viewers: #2, 3.32 million; A18-49: #2, 0.8/ 6 at 9 p.m.) and a two-hour telecast of “Love Island” (Viewers: #3, 1.53 million; A18-49: #2t, 0.3/ 2 from 9-11 p.m. And the only other original programs of the evening was The CW’s Sunday 9-10 p.m. pairing of “Wellington Paranormal” (Viewers: 245,000; A18-49: 0.1/ 0) and “Dead Pixels” (Viewers: 182,000; A18-49: 0.0/ 0).
