Sunday Ratings: Modest Season-Ending Numbers for ‘Love Island’ on CBS

CBS: 0.5 rating/4 share, ABC: 0.4/ 3, NBC and Fox: 0.2/ 2 each, CW: 0.1/ 1

In season-finale news was CBS relationship/reality series “Love Island”, which concluded with 1.61 million viewers (#3) and a 0.4 rating/3 share in adults 18-49 from 9-11 p.m. ET. Lead-in “Big Brother” topped the evening in the demo, with a 0.9/ 7 in the Sunday 8 p.m. ET hour (with 3.71 million viewers, which was second behind the 4.20 million for competing “Celebrity Family Feud” on ABC). While “Love Island” is certainly nothing to boast about in these traditional fast affiliate Nielsen ratings, my prediction is a renewal next summer because of its young audience skew.

Earlier in the evening on the Eye was granddaddy newsmagazine “60 Minutes” with a dominant 6.18 million viewers and a 0.4/ 2 in adults 18-49 in the Sunday 7 p.m. hour. “Celebrity Family Feud”, meanwhile, scored a 0.5/ 4 in the demo (#2) opposite aforementioned “Big Brother.”

Elsewhere, The CW featured “D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow” (Viewers: 375,000; A18-49: 0.1/ 1 at 8 p.m.) and half-hours “Wellington Paranormal” (Viewers: 180,000; A18-49: 0.0/ 0 at 9 p.m.) and “Dead Pixels” (Viewers: 201,000; A18-49: 0.0/ 0 at 9:30 p.m.). Needless to say, each series was dead last in its time period. And the remainder of the evening were encore telecasts.
