Sunday Ratings: CBS’ ’60 Minutes’ and ‘Big Brother’ Top Diluted Night in the Two Key Categories

Total Viewers:
ABC: 3.87 million, CBS: 3.68, NBC: 1,75, Fox: 641,000, CW: 325,000

Adults 18-49:
ABC and CBS: 0.5 rating/4 share each, NBC: 0.3/ 2, Fox: 0.2/ 1, CW: 0.1/ 1

CBS granddaddy “60 Minutes” topped the evening in total viewers (6.38 million), with an also first-place 0.6 rating/5 share in adults 18-49 at 7 p.m. ET. That led into consistent “Big Brother”, which was first for the evening in the demo with a 1.0/ 8 at 8 p.m. ET. “Big Brother” also scored 3.86 million viewers, which finished second in the time period behind “Celebrity Family Feud” on ABC (Viewers: #1, 4.55 million; A18-49: #2, 0.6/ 4). Like most seasons of “Big Brother”, one side of the house (in this case the “Cookout” alliance) is completely dominating the game. 

Airing out of “Celebrity Family Feud” on the alphabet net were 9-11 p.m. game shows “The Chase” (Viewers: #1, 3.74 million; A18-49: #1, 0.5/ 4) and “To Tell the Truth” (Viewers: #1, 3.10 million; A18-49: #1, 0.5/ 4). 

In season (or series) finale news, “Dead Pixels” on The CW was off the charts in the 9 p.m. half-hour with 170,000 viewers and no registered rating in adults 18-49. Lead-in “Wellington Paranormal” also scored a 0 in the demo, with 216,000 total viewers. Earlier on The CW was “D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow” with 456,000 viewers and a 0.1/ 1 in adults 18-49. Needless to say, each of the three CW entries finished a distant fifth in their time periods.

The remainder of this fourth Sunday in August were repeat telecasts.
