      • I totally understand. That’s why I can not watch too many shows. Probably a max of 10 per season or I would never be able to catch up. So far, so good for me. Only behind on one show – Arrow from last week. I hope to catch up on at least 3-4 shows today since I dropped Designated Survivor and added Good Doctor and Kevin Probably.

Good luck bro catching up on your shows…

        • Yeah same here that’s why I can’t get into too many shows either because I fall behind too quickly. Yeah 10 is the usual amount for me as well somewhere in that area. It was easier back in the day when DVR wasn’t a real option and we could just watch the shows live. I have dropped some shows every season that I watch on a regular basis. I also dropped Designated Survivor last season and both The Good Doctor and Kevin.

I’m going to try and see if I can watch Kevin live but I watch all of the Chicago shows so Med is coming back around Thanksgiving so I might have to give up Kev. The Chicago shows help out with Fire going on hiatus until January and PD pretty soon too so hiatuses are welcomed these days for me. LOL! For The CW its been tough with shows like Arrow or anything that changes nights. The shows that air late in the week are harder to catch up on and the 2-hour shows like Dancing with the Stars.

Thanks anyways though and good luck to you as well catching up on your shows as well and let me know if you have to drop anything else.

          • I think back in the day, I wouldn’t watch that many shows, especially the 10pm shows since I’m usually in bed around that time. The only reason I can watch that many shows now is because of the DVR. 😉 Kevin is a light hearted show that I can watch while I’m doing other stuff and it’s easy on the mind – not to intense of a story line. I do wish the ratings were a bit higher for it but it is what it is. Never got into the Chicago shows and for some reason, I’m not into comedies anymore or cop/detective shows. I don’t know why. Maybe just a phase in life. I totally understand about catching up on shows later in the week. I’m already 2 episodes behind on Arrow (as of tonight’s episode)….. Thank God for my show-free Wednesday that allows me to catch up on some shows even if I have to FF through many parts. So far I plan to keep all the shows I’m watching but may drop The Good Doctor. It’s beginning to get a bit repetitive for my tastes and I’m not into medical shows.

            • I didn’t start watching a lot of shows until I got out of high school because it was hard to stay up to watch everything and there was other activities I had and homework. Once I became an adult it became easier to follow a lot of these shows and DVR has made it easier because I don’t have to force myself to watch them live and I can keep up with them every episode because watching them live means I will miss some in between.

Yeah I’m going to try to watch Kevin this week I missed the last few but it isn’t doing well. Sometimes if I really like a show knowing it won’t return I’ll watch it anyways. That’s why I like to get into CW shows when I can like this season I’m watching Valor and Dynasty because CW tends to not worry about ratings too much. I haven’t watched Arrow in a few years just not that into the CW superhero shows anymore but I might checkout Black Lightning. Right now the only comic show I’m watching on the networks is The Gifted on FOX.

It could be a phase every now and then I do the same thing like I went through comedy withdrawal at one point earlier this decade, the comedies have been so bad but I really started getting back into them last season and this season has been great as some of them are on their A-game. Procedurals aren’t everybody’s speed so I get it with the Chicago shows that’s why I always recommend Chicago Fire since it’s more soapy than Med and PD.

Mondays are the most crowded night for me but Tuesdays are the lightest so I have to reserve nights or late nights for DVR to catch up but it’s easier now.

I would definitely recommend dropping The Good Doctor it’s not worth it the show keeps getting worse every week. I don’t care what its ratings are the show is terrible. If I want to watch a medical show done right I’ll just watch Chicago Med and or go back to Grey’s Anatomy which I dropped a couple of years ago not because it was bad. I just couldn’t keep up with it anymore. I know for sure if I watch both of them I’m not going to waste my time.

              • I think I was the opposite. I watched a lot of TV until I started college. If you didn’t watch it live, you’d have to wait until reruns in the summer when you could catch the episode again. Then came VCR’s which alleviated the ‘pressure’ of watching live, which was great cause you could watch the same episode multiple times and if you weren’t home, you didn’t have to worry about it cause you could still watch your favorite show. I guess by college I was burned out or OD’ed on TV so much in my younger days that my TV watching decreased a lot. Plus real life activities became more important than sitting in front of a TV all day. LOL

I enjoy watching Kevin. It’s a light and fun show. Easy on the mind compared to a This is Us which is too intense at times and I have to watch in delay mode to FF the very emotional scenes.

Well, it looks like THE CW has extended Dynasty but canceled Valor even though the ratings and viewers were higher for Valor this week. I guess the Netflix deal made Dynasty the ‘favorite child’ in the eyes of CBS.

I enjoy the Superhero shows a lot. It’s comprises a majority of the shows I watch. The only one I don’t watch is Gotham. I enjoy them because they try to do good and I need something uplifting, especially when so much sh*t is happening in my life at times. My favorite, as you can probably tell, is Supergirl. I enjoy watching that show and have seen the episodes multiple of times. The Gifted is nice one but being on the run tends to bore me after a while. I may the only one on the planet that is enjoying Inhumans. Still can’t get all the animosity towards it. Tomorrow is the finale and I’m sad to see it go. I enjoyed watching it Friday nights. Something I could watch while relaxing on the sofa after a very busy work week. Just loved the Hawaiian scenes…. Oh well, Agents of SHEILD starts up soon so I’ll be watching that.

You’re not the only one about going through comedy withdrawal. I’m going through the same. I hardly watch any comedies. I went from watching only comedies to none. Could be a phase for me too. But then how many shows can I watch. Only have a few hours in the evening after work and some days I’d rather do something else besides being stuck in front of the TV so I just limit the amount of shows to about 10. Even now, I’m catching up on most of my shows. Hopefully by tomorrow, I’ll be caught up.

Not sure I’d be into the Chicago shows. I limit myself to those ‘real’ life dramas. I think This is Us is enough for me. But I think you’re right about The Good Doctor. It seems monotonous and I’m not into medical dramas. I may drop it. Let’s see… I never watched St Elsewhere, Greys Anatomy or even General Hospital. Medical dramas just don’t appeal to me. I just don’t like hospitals and don’t like seeing people sick/injured/dying like that. And showing the operation room is just a snore fest for me. LOL

  1. Speechless (Really not as good as last year)
Modern Family (So much better than last year)
Riverdale (Excellent pacing by the writers)

  2. Chicago PD
    Toronto Raptors Basketball

I didn’t catch last week’s Chicago PD but the show is on fire right now and Dynasty is addicting right now I wanted more after I watched it last week. I love baseball but I never got into this World Series I just don’t care not watching the game 7 like I did last year that was an awesome WS between the Cubs and Indians last year.
