Ratings Breakdown:
It was an easy Sunday overnight victory for CBS, which bested No. 2 NBC in households by a considerable 61 percent. But NBC will certainly narrow the gap in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demographics) thanks to “Little Big Shots,” which scored a healthy 5.9/10 in the household overnights from 8-9 p.m. Comparably, that was 44 percent above a Sunday 8 p.m. edition of “Dateline” on the year-ago evening (4.1/ 7 on 5/02/15), and it led into the combination of 9-10 p.m. sitcoms “The Carmichael Show” (#2: 2.8/ 4) and “Crowded” (#4: 2.1/ 3). A 10 p.m. edition of “Dateline” followed with a dominant 3.9/ 7, which was 86 percent above lead-in “Crowded.”

Earlier in the evening on NBC was a repeat of “Little Big Shots” at a third-place 3.1/ 5 from 7-8 p.m.

CBS, meanwhile, opened with older-skewing granddaddy “60 Minutes” at a first-place 7.5/13 at 7 p.m., followed by the 8-11 p.m. drama rotation of “Madam Secretary” (#1: 7.1/12), “The Good Wife” (#1: 6.4/10) and “Elementary” (#2: 3.6/ 6). Critically acclaimed “The Good Wife” concludes its seven season run next Sunday.

In the specials department was the “American Country Countdown Awards” on Fox, which could not compete with a 2.3/ 4 in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m. Earlier in the evening on Fox were encore telecasts of animated “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 1.1/ 2) and “The Simpsons” (#4: 1.0/ 2) from 7-8 p.m.

ABC, which needs to revamp deteriorating Sunday next season, featured the rotation of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (#2: 3.4/ 6), “Once Upon a Time” (#3: 2.7/ 4), waiting-to-be-canceled “The Family” (#4: 2.3/ 4) and overrated “Quantico” (#3: 2.4/ 4).
