While it was a holiday weekend, CBS remained as the Friday night leader in total viewers (4.61 million). NBC won a rare Friday night among all key demos including adults 18-49 (0.9/3 rating/share) and adults 25-54 (1.2/4).
Four different networks — ABC, CBS, NBC and the CW — televised holiday specials in the 8 p.m. hour; six specials in all. The 50th anniversary edition of the animated classic “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” on NBC led those TV specials on this night in total viewers (5.05 million) and all key demos. In fact, “Grinch” was the top prime time telecast among every key adult demographic.
