Julie Chen Exits CBS’ ‘The Talk’

Announcement Via Taped Message on Tuesday's Telecast

Julie Chen, who referred to herself last Thursday on CBS’ “Big Brother” as Julie Chen Moonves, will announce her departure today (in a taped message) as co-host of Eye net daytime talker “The Talk” (according to CNN).

News of Chen’s expected “The Talk” resignation comes just nine days after her husband Les Moonves was fired as CBS longtime CEO amid a wave of sexual misconduct allegations. Moonves exited on Sept. 9 after a second wave of women stepped forward. The next day, Chen announced that she “was taking a few days off from ‘The Talk’ to be with my family,” adding, “I will be back soon and will see you Thursday night on ‘Big Brother’.”

“Big Brother,” which ends its current season on Sept. 26 (following the season premiere of “Survivor”), is waiting word on its expected renewal. But given the recent circumstances, Julie Chen is not expected back.
