Just Under 2-Million Viewers for ‘Shadowhunters’ Series-Opener on Freeform

Cable Net Touts 'Shadowhunters' as Strongest New Series Opener Since 'Ravenswood'

The launch of Freeform drama “Shadowhunters” opened with 1.82 million viewers on Tuesday at 9:02 p.m., which was the rebranded cable network’s most-watched new series premiere since “Ravenswood” on Oct. 22, 2013. Lead-in “Pretty Little Liars” opened its winter season with 2.25 million viewers at 8 p.m. Results in adults 18-34 (534,000), adults 18-49 (965,000), women 18-49 (659,000) and viewers 12-34 (809,000) was also the best since “Ravenswood.” Keep in mind, however, that “Ravenswood” lasted for only one season (and 10 episodes).

Socially, “Shadowhunters” generated 1.1 million total engagements across Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr and Twitter, ranking as the No. 2 entertainment TV show on the day (behind only “Pretty Little Liars’ and beating out MTV’s “Teen Wolf” – 1.0 million).
