The 2021 BMW Championship, the second event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, begins Thursday, August 26, at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland.
While many surprising players were knocked out of the playoffs following last week’s Northern Trust, most of the biggest names in the game are still in the running as the opening round of the BMW gets underway on Thursday.
World No. 1 Jon Rahm is second in the FedEx Cup standings after a near-win at Liberty National. He joins Open champion Collin Morikawa, Players champion Justin Thomas, Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama, gold medal winner Xander Schauffele, three-time major champ Jordan Spieth, World No. 2 Dustin Johnson, and many more.
That’s without mentioning the player currently in the FedEx Cup Playoffs driver’s seat, Northern Trust winner Tony Finau. Even Phil Mickelson, whose PGA Championship win in May feels like a lifetime ago, has a tee time, though, at 70th in the standings to start the first round, he was the last player who qualified. But for many players like Mickelson, this is the last chance to put on a show and make it into the Top 30, thus securing a spot in the season-ending Tour Championship.

The BMW Championship will take place on Thursday, 26th August 2021. This tournament will continue until Sunday, 29th August.
This MBWGolf tournament is taking place at Caves Valley in Maryland.
What TV Channel will broadcast the coverage?
You can watch the 2021 BMW Championship on Golf Channel and NBC. Golf Channel will air the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday and provide early-round coverage on the weekend. NBC takes over for the third and final rounds on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Check out the full TV schedule below.
