Paramount+ Eyes ‘Criminal Minds’ Reboot

News of the Proposed Reboot Comes Just One Year After the Original Series Ended on CBS

Just one year after concluding its 15-season run on CBS comes word that Paramount+ (the upcoming rebranded version of streamer CBS All Access) is interested in reviving crime solver “Criminal Minds.” Created by Jeff Davis, “Criminal Minds” aired from 2005 to 2020 and the proposed plan is to have some original cast members return joined by new actors.

The original series followed a group of criminal profilers who work for the FBI as members of its Behavioral Analysis Unit using behavioral analysis and profiling to investigate crimes and find perpetrators. The show told the story of the team as they worked various cases, and tackled their personal struggles. Over the course of its run, cast members included Mandy Patinkin (who exited after just two seasons), Shemar Moore, Joe Mantegna, Aisha Tyler, Matthew Gray Gubler, Thomas Gibson, Lola Glaudini, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster, among others.

The show spawned two short-lived spinoffs, “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior” and “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.”

Reps for CBS Studios, Paramount+ and ABC Signature declined to confirm the reported reboot.
