Fox won its second consecutive Sunday night overall with the network’s first musical telecast “Grease Live.” In total viewers, the 3-hour Fox event starring Julianne Hough, Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens and Carly Rae Jepsen outdrew NBC’s two most recent musicals, “The Wiz Live” from Dec. 2015 and “Peter Pan Live” from Dec. 2014.
Although it was way short of the 18.62 million that watched NBC’s “The Sound of Music Live” from Dec. 2013, “Grease Live” outrated “The Sound of Music” by double-digit percentages in adults 18-34 and teens 12-17, according to Marc Berman.
