The IFBB works with over 200 national federations that represent approximately 3 million athletes around the world. The IFBB has been credited with popularizing bodybuilding throughout the world and has played a major role in making it what it is today.

There are three different types of shows that an athlete can compete in: amateur, professional and pro qualifier (a show where competitors earn their pro card). Being a bodybuilding fanatic myself, I know how important it is to stay healthy. Staying on track can be quite a challenge, especially when life throws you unexpected curveballs. Bodybuilding is a long and difficult road, but very rewarding in the end. ifbb pro card can be one of the final steps in your journey. IFBB Pro card application process isn’t easy or simple, but if you’re willing to do what it takes – it’s achievable.
The general process is as follows:
Step 1: Get a membership card from the IFBB.
Step 2: Place Top-5 in any National or Regional show that is sanctioned by the IFBB.
Step 3: Get at least two Judges to sign your Pro Card Application in a Top-5 placing that is also sanctioned by the IFBB (you can download the application here).
Step 4: Send your completed application to the IFBB Head Office located in South Africa. You will then receive an email confirming that your application has been received.
Step 5: If you qualify, you will receive an Official IFBB Pro Card™ in the mail within a few weeks of submitting your application and becoming an official IFBB Professional Athlete.
How To Earn Your IFBB Pro Card
To compete in an IFBB competition, you must first win a national competition in your country of residence. Some federations do not require the athlete to win their nationals, but most do.
For example, if you live in France, you must win the French national championships before attempting to get your pro card at an international event. If you live in America but are a citizen of another country, you must win that country’s nationals before attempting to go pro at an international event.
There is one exception — you can qualify for an international event by placing in the top three at a previous international open event or winning a continental championship (for example, winning Mr Africa). However, this is rare and most competitors go through the process described above.
