Total Viewers:
CBS: 2.31 million, ABC: 2.12, NBC: 1.70, Fox: 1.49, CW: 720,000

Adults 18-49:
CBS: 0.5 rating/4 share, ABC and Fox: 0.3/ 3 each, NBC: 0.3/ 2, CW: 0.1/ 1

In what historically has to be one of the least-watched Thursday nights on broadcast television, summer CBS staple “Big Brother” was tops at 3.61 million viewers and a 0.8 rating/7 share at 8 p.m. Speaking as a super fan, the more diversified cast of competitors is a positive step forward. Lead-out “Love Island” also won its time period in the demo, but a 0.4/ 3 at 9 p.m. is half of the “Big Brother” lead-in. “Love Island” also dipped to second in its time period in total viewers, with 1.66 million.

In season premiere news was The CW fantasy-adventure drama “The Outpost” at a mere 482,000 viewers (with a 0 in adults 18-49 at 9 p.m.). The lead-in, “Walker”, scored 958,000 viewers and a 0.1/ 1 in the demo at 8 p.m. Needless to say, both CW dramas finished last in their time periods.

Elsewhere, ABC had nothing unusual (or positive) to note care of its combination of “When Nature Calls with Helen Mirren” (Viewers: #2, 2.44 million; A18-49: #3t, 0.3/ 2 at 8 p.m.), “Holey Moley” (Viewers: #1, 2.16 million; A18-49: #3t, 0.3/ 3 at 9 p.m.) and game show “The Hustler” (Viewers: #1, 1.76 million; A18-49: #1, 0.3/ 3 at 10 p.m.). NBC featured “Making It” (Viewers: #3, 2.04 million; A18-49: #4, 0.3/ 3 at 8 p.m.) and “Good Girls” (Viewers: #3, 1.61 million; A18-49: #2t, 0.3/ 3 at 9 p.m.). Fox featured perennially low-rated “Beat Shazam!” (Viewers: #4, 1.49 million; #2t, 0.3/ 2 at 8 p.m.). And the remainder of the evening were repeats.
