‘Timeless’ Series Finale Movie to Air on NBC in December

“Timeless”, the time-traveling drama that lasted two seasons (and two cancellations), will return to NBC one more time. The network officially agreed on July 31 to air a two-hour movie that will conclude the series (and resolve its second season cliffhanger) in December, with all seven regular cast members featuring Abigail Spencer, Malcolm Barrett and Matt Lanter.

While the actors’ contracts had expired on July 1, the large support from the show’s “Clockblocker” fans had a significant effect in the decision to return them and the show for a finale movie, according to executive producer Shawn Ryan (“The Shield”, “The Unit”) in a USA Today article. He stated, “All the helicopter signage stuff at Comic-Con was very much on their radar. Trending on Twitter, months after the cancellation, was super-impressive. It’s such a passionate fan base.”

Filming for the finale is scheduled to begin in mid-October in Los Angeles. It is scheduled to air sometime around Christmas.
