Wednesday 7/14/21 Preliminary Ratings

Total Viewers:
ABC: 6.57 million; NBC: 2.38, CBS: 2.19, Fox: 2.16, CW: 594,000

ABC stood well above the competitors last night care of Game 4 of The NBA Finals, Milwaukee vs. Phoenix, at an estimated 7.38 million viewers and a 2.4 rating/18 share in adults 18-49 in the Wednesday 9-11 p.m. ET block. Earlier in the evening on ABC was the pairing of an 8 p.m. version of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and pre-game The NBA Finals, which including football in the mix in the earlier time zones scored an average 4.94 million viewers (#1) and a 1.3/11 in adults 18-49 (#1) from 8-9 p.m. Results for any live sporting event, of course, are estimated. And these fast affiliate ratings are time period based, which includes everything airing in the time period.

On CBS, “Big Brother” returned to the Wednesday 8 p.m. ET hour with 3.49 million viewers (#2) and a 0.8/ 6 rating (#2) in adults 18-49. Considering the football competition on ABC, this is a positive performance. As for this week’s HOH, note to Frenchie…you blew it! Next on the Eye net was dating/relationship hour “Love Island” (Viewers: #4, 1.67 million; A18-49: #3, 0.3/ 2 at 9 p.m.), followed by an encore telecast of crime solver “S.W.A.T.”

Elsewhere, Fox featured “MasterChef” (Viewers: #3, 2.51 million; A18-49: #3, 0.6/ 5 at 8 p.m.) and “Crime Scene Kitchen” (Viewers: #3, 1.80 million; A18-49: #2, 0.4/ 3 at 9 p.m.), which are compatible (albeit non-spectacular). The CW aired dramas “Kung Fu” (Viewers: 776,000; A18-49: 0.1/ 1 at 8 p.m.) and “Into The Dark” (Viewers: 412,000; A18-49: 0.1/ 1 at 9 p.m.), which of course both finished fifth in their time periods. And NBC offered a night of “Chicago”-set drama repeats.
