Patricia Heaton Eyes Return to CBS in ‘Carol’s Second Act’

The Former 'Everybody Loves Raymond' and 'The Middle' Star Returns to the Eye Net

Former “Everybody Loves Raymond” star Patricia Heaton is returning to CBS in the new multi-camera comedy “Carol’s Second Act.” The proposed half-hour, which will be executive produced and written by  Heaton and “Trophy Wife” creators Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins, follows Carol Chambers, a mother of two and retired teacher who decides to embark on a unique second act of becoming a doctor.

Heaton, of course, recently concluded her nine season run on ABC sitcom “The Middle,” and is the only actress to appear in two long running network sitcoms in the mother role. “Everybody Loves Raymond” also ran for nine seasons. In between the two, Heaton appeared opposite Kelsey Grammer in Fox sitcom “Back to You” in the 2007-08 season.
