Saturday Final Nationals: ABC Leads Among Key Demographics with ‘NBA Saturday Primetime’ Launch

CBS was Saturday night’s most-watched network with an average of 5.14 million total viewers.

NBA Saturday Primetime” on ABC propelled the network to win the night across prime-time broadcast and cable television on Saturday in all key adult and male demos, including 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. Its debut edition delivered the most-watched and highest-rated non-Christmas game of the regular season across all networks, according Nielsen. The broadcast, which saw the Chicago Bulls defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 96-83, peaked with 4.534 million viewers from 10:45-11 p.m. ET.

NBA Countdown” had its best regular-season, non-Christmas edition since March 11, 2012.

Lifetime was runner-up to ABC in key demos on the evening with its combo of original telefilm “Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart” and special “Beyond the Headlines: Toni Braxton.” As indicated earlier this week, “Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart” is cable’s top original movie with adults 25-54, women 25-54 and women 18-49 since Lifetime’s “Whitney” biopic in January 2015.
