In a parody promotion on the January 15, 2022 edition of NBC’s “SNL” (“Saturday Night Live“), on the heels of the upcoming dramatic reboot of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” for Peacock, the streaming service is borrowing another classic 90’s sitcom and updating it as a drama: “Family Matters“.

Taking place in Chicago, Steve Urkel (Chris Redd) is having a rough-go. His mother is a drunk, complaining that she “raised a damn nerd.” With his gun, Urkel pistol-whipped a guy who taunted him about falling for Laura Winslow (Ego Nwodim). Urkel comes back at him, “Did I do that?”

Police officer Carl Winslow (Kenan Thompson) apprehended a downtrodden Urkel and assured him, “The Winslows are your family, and family [bleep] matters.
